I'd like to modify my admin area to allow batch editing of my items. For example, I'd like to add a drop down list of categories, and then an "allocate" action, so that I can bulk allocate items to categories.

Is this possible?

I'm struggling to think of a simple way to do this, although i have just got back from holiday, so my brain isn't fully engaged yet.

Assistance greatly appeaciated as always.

By default this is not built-in, but it's easy to create a custom form that embeds forms for all your entities. I often do that and expose selective fields, for example to bulk-update prices for products.
Just requires a custom action, and that custom form.
