Symfony doesn't directly support any databases at all - that's the job of the ORM, i.e. Propel or Doctrine. Which are you using?

Is sqlsrv a PDO driver? My understanding would then be yes, although I've not tried it. I would google "Propel sqlsrv php" to see if any material exists on the 'net already.

You can also contain the mailing lists for Doctrine or Propel for questions like these, if you don't have any luck here. Remember that in the lamp stack, the majority of people are using MySQL; a minority do use MSSQL, but with the standard drivers I should think.

Doctrine is still working on this driver, so it does not work yet!
