There's a couple of PDF libraries here:

http://trac.symfony-project.com/wiki/SymfonyPlugins

Instructions are provided, I believe.

i have worked with fpdf, it seems fairly simple and well organised.
where do i add the files to include them in symfony.
is it in my plugins folder in my symfony root or my website's root plugins?

ok, you will find this funny Very Happy

the symfony plugin install command for sfFPDF plugin seems not to work (it gave me install failed command)

so since i could not wait for your replies Evil or Very Mad i decided to include a folder which i called fpdf in the lib folder of my symfony project, i repeat symfony project, not module Very Happy . ive included my fpdf files downloaded from www.fpdf.org, with the font folder as well.

i typed this code:
<?php
//require('fpdf.php');
$pdf=new FPDF();
$pdf->AddPage();
//$pdf->SetFont('Arial','B',16);
$pdf->Cell(40,10,'Hello World!');
$pdf->Output();
?>

in a file (stored in frontend\modules\user\templates) called myActionSuccess.php

in my actions.class.php, i created the following function
public function executeMyAction()
{
}

and after refreshing the cache, did not work
gave this:
%PDF-1.3 3 0 obj <> endobj 4 0 obj <> stream x3R235W(r Q063T036WIQHW/IQT Rp

HELP! Mad Mad Mad

I think you're not getting any responses because your posts are vague, and you are not giving much detail as to what you have done to solve your problem. Additionally, the FPDF plugin may not have many users, so you are asking quite a small number of people. You do appear to be nearly there - the output suggests you just need to fix the HTTP header and it might then work.

However, if you lose your temper or are deliberately offensive, then you won't last long here. I have removed the objectionable part of your post.

my responses are not vague at all, and all my explanations are here as in the post to prove it

guess there are not many ppl who can tackle the pdf prob. and does that include the moderator? Surprised

Well, the moderator in this case is me. My view was that your first posts did not contain enough detail, but that should not stop someone else from answering your question if they feel they understand your question. Once you provided some code, however, there is some detail for someone to look at, so it's a matter then of waiting for a reply.

In the interim, it is worth working on your problem separately, or working on something else and coming back to this later. It is possible that a particular topic won't attract any replies - it does happen from time to time.

Were you able to run the test action after installing the plugin originally?

http://localhost/appname_dev.php/sfFPDF/test

should automatically cause a pdf with the words Hello World to download to your machine.

Ok, so I seriously hope this issue is long dead. However, in the unfortunate circumstance that someone out there is still hunting for this answer - I have fpdf working on one of my projects.

Download fpdf from http://www.fpdf.org
Create an fpdf directory inside your project root /lib directory.
Copy fpdf.php and the font directory into it.

Create your success file (eg pdfSuccess.php)

In your actions.class.php you can create the following to test the output:

$pdf = new FPDF();
$pdf -> addPage();
$pdf->SetFont('Arial','B',16);
$pdf->Cell(40,10,'Hello World!');
$pdf->Output();

Everything else can be found in the tutorial files included with the fpdf download.
